***Auction Highlight*** 1877-cc Trade Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc By USCG. The 1877-CC Trade dollar claims a small mintage of 534,000 pieces. All the coins were intended for export, as the legal tender status of the Trade dollar had been revoked on July 22, 1876. However, there was some demand for the coins in the regional economy, as indicated in an article published in the Virginia City Territorial Enterprise, June 29, 1877 edition, "Our people would not object to the big dollars just now, yet if they could get plenty of half dollars they will try to worry along." Some Trade dollars were released into circulation in this country, as evidenced by the number of worn, circulated examples that are available today. Most of the coins were exported and melted, but some have been repatriated, often with colorful chop marks from Chinese merchants. Today, the 1877-CC is definitely a rare issue in Mint State, and Gem coins are virtually unobtainable. This impressive Choice specimen exhibits sharply detailed design elements and well-preserved surface,. Satiny mint luster shines, adding to the considerable visual appeal A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
