***Auction Highlight*** 1873-p Gold Liberty Eagle $10 Graded au53 By SEGS. Up For Auction is the Legendary 1873-p $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle. A coin referred to in 1988 by David Akers as Ò One of the five or six rarest dates in the U.S. $10 gold series. Among Philadelphia Mint Liberty Head issues, only the 1875 is rarer. There are relatively few known specimens in any condition, perhaps 12-15, and they are all VF or EF (mostly VF) and I have never seen or heard of one that grades AU or Uncirculated.Ó This piece has brilliant fire-gold surfaces with myriad trivial marks reflected in the slightly mirrored fields. This is an important absolute rarity in the series, with today only 25 Known Examples. Tied for 7th Finest. We have included another au53 for your comparison. I wish you very good luck in becoming one of the handful of people in the world who may own one of these numismatic GOLD Rarities. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
