***Auction Highlight*** 1864-s Seated Liberty Quarter 25c Graded AU Details By USCG. 0 Up for Auction is once again another numismatic Rarity. An incredibly rare 1864-s Seated Liberty Quarter. To quote RonGuth of PCGS. Ron Guth: The 1864-S Quarter Dollar is a Civil War era rarity with a small mintage of only 20,000 coins. In fact, this date has the smallest mintage of any Seated Liberty Quarter from the San Francisco Mint. Naturally, this date is rare and difficult to obtain in virtually all grades. Very few examples, most of which are in low grade, are the only examples available to collectors. Mint State examples are exceedingly rare. It is difficult to tell what nice examples are supposed to look like, as so few are available, but observing the few known,, we note weakness on most of the stars on the right side of the obverse and just a bit of softness on the eagle's right (viewer's left) leg feathers, and possibly the mintmark. PCGS estimates that only 80 coins survive in all grades, only in Unc. Since there are many many more than 80 seated Liberty Quarter collectors.Of the ones that PCGS has graded, 4 were in Unc, 3 in au, 12 in xf, and the rest were vf or lower. I once again wish you good luck in obtaining this celebrated rarity.
