Manufactured in 1971. Colt only manufactured approximately 3,900 of these Buntline Special revolvers from 1957 to 1974. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "696". Blue finish, with casehardened frame, standard blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with a one-piece checkered ivory grip. Consignor states the grips were checkered by Paul Perrsinger of El Paso. Texas. The revolver comes with a nicely homemade marble display stand with claw foot legs and a cow horn

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original blue finish with some thinning on the left rear side of the barrel, lower rear edge of the back strap with some cycling scratches on the cylinder. The frame retains 99% original case colors with some of the colors beginning to fade a bit. The grip is excellent. The markings are crisp and clear. The display stand and horn are excellent.
