Attractive Gold Embellished Silver Fitted European Hunting Sword with Scabbard and Utility Knife

Measuring 29 3/4 inches overall, with a 24 inch double fuller, finished on the lower half in a fine niter blue with gold accented engravings of game animals and accoutrements of the hunt, with a banner reading "G.H. Kohl/Waffenfabricant" on the right ricasso and "in Stuttgart" on the left. Georg Heinrich Kohl entered the Stuttgart arms trade in 1793, with his son, also Georg Heinrich, becoming his apprentice in 1821.Silver furnished hilt, with a "Crown/K in wreath on the clamshell languet (possibly denoting Karl I of Wuerttemberg), thick bar guard, a collar on the stag grip with scenes of European game and an oak leaf pommel cap. With a silver fitted black leather scabbard, and a small utility knife, 9 inches long with "VOTTELER" on the 5 1/4 inch blade and a simulated stag grip.

Fine overall. The blade retains 80% of the niter blue and gold finish, showing areas of bright wear and mild spotting. A deep, well aged patina is showing on the silver, with bright wear along the edges. The scabbard is fair with cracking and scuffs of the leather. The utility knife is very good, with light spotting and sharpening marks.
