Attractive DERINGE Marked Single Shot Pocket Pistol
A high quality copy of the Henry Deringer pocket pistol, the "DERINGE" marking is close enough to trick an inattentive observer into thinking it was a legitimate Deringer, without infringing copyright, much like the "made for SMITH & WESSON cartridge" revolvers of the same era or "Panasoanic" telephone of the modern day. Silver plated brass blade front and notch rear sights, with scroll engraving on the tang, screw and left breech flat, "DERINGE" on top, and further scrollwork on the lock and hammer. The barrel is finished brown, with a short lower rib and an ebony ramrod, and the breech, hammer and lock are casehardened. Checkered bird's head stock, with a black lacquer finish, German silver furniture, engraved bolster, accent and reverse plates, trigger guard, escutcheons, forearm tip, shield escutcheon and buttplate. The barrel, breech, stock and tang screw are all marked "III".
