This is an exceptional example of a custom Colt Model 1908 380 Hammerless Pocket Pistol utilizing a very early in the first year of production pistol. The pistol features factory style floral scroll engraving with punch dot background on the slide, frame and lower front strap. There are fancy decorative diamond patterns on the back of the slide and frame, and backstrap. There is a leaf design border on the upper edge of the slide on the left side and a scallop upper border on the right side. There is a diamond pattern amid the scroll on each side of the slide above and behind the trigger. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block marking "PATENTED / APR. 20, 1897 DEC. 22, 1903" and "COLT'S PAT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.", with the circled Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the right side is marked "AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 380 HAMMERLESS" and the serial number is marked on the left side of the frame in a banner. Colt triangle "VP" proof on the left upper front of the trigger guard bow and "R" on the lower left. Standard fixed sights, blue barrel, niter blue small components, including the rear sight, blue magazine marked "CAL.380 / COLT" on the bottom and fitted with custom checkered ivory grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and circled Rampant Colt on the bottom.

Condition: Near mint as custom embellished. The pistol retains 99% plus custom blue finish with a few scattered minor dings. There is some wear on the trigger and rear sight, otherwise all of the original bright niter blue finish remains on the small components. The grips are excellent, beginning to take on a pleasant aged patina. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
