Attractive Antique Knife with Etched Damascus Blade, Carved Figural Ivory Grip and an Ebony and Ivor
Measuring 8" long, the leaf-shaped spear point blade is decorated with etched scroll patterns, with a Damascus pattern in the background and a pair of flared upward projections at the ricasso. The grip is solid ivory, finely carved with a monkey seated on a pillar and concealing it's face on one side, and the reverse carved into the figure of Vishnu, wielding a sword, dagger, mace and chakra. OAL: 13 1/2". Sheath is three piece construction, with the main body a smooth piece of ebony, and the throat and tip in ivory, showing decorative bands on the tip.

Condition: Fine. The blade shows a mixed brown and gray patina, with strong etching. Grip is very good, with two thin cracks near the blade and a fine aged color overall. A few cracks are also visible in the sheath, along with light handling marks and attractive ivory patina.
