The crew list for the Brig <I>Adventure </B></I>signed by the ship’s master James Porter. It is to comply with “An act for the relief and protection of American Seamen”. Interestingly, out of the entire crew of six men, all were identified as Black or Dark Mulatto, including one man named Nathan Slave.
