Item/Description: This Royal Doulton collection features several characters, including "The Jovial Monk" (HN 2144), which was made from 1954 to 1976 and designed by Peggy Davies, depicting a robust friar merrily holding a large platter of food. "The Boatman" (HN 2417), designed by Mary Nicoll and produced from 1971 to 1987, captures a weathered sailor attentively painting details onto a life ring. "The Master" (HN 2325) designed by Peggy Davies, produced between 1966 and 1992, portrays a distinguished, seated gentleman in formal attire engrossed in reading a book, representing a school headmaster or academic "master."
