Rare. Shows assay for bullion deposited from three different mills: Santiago, Manhattan, and Temelec Mill. Signed by assayer Gideon Moore. 10 x 17" Folds with separation on center fold. This was the Gould & Curry trying to use their extremely expensive mill they had built a few years prior at Six and Sevenmile Canyons. Moore studied Chemistry at Yale and then went to San Francisco setting up his own assay office at 612 Sacramento Street by 1863. Realizing the experience and opportunity on the Comstock, he joined as the assayer for the Gould & Curry Assay Office in 1866. Wanting more education in assaying, he went to Europe and received his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1869 from the University of Heidelberg after which he set up a Chemical Laboratory in New York City.
