This vintage dining table and matching chairs in solid tiger oak dates from the early 20th century. Circular split-pedestal table measures 28.5" high and 47.5" in diameter, and has two original leaves which extend the table to a length of 69.5". Table platform base has small modern casters that make it easy to move, and yet they're small enough so they're not very noticeable. This split pedestal table features a carved motif of oval roundels and floral designs on the apron and pedestal. Set is currently in storage and due to temperature changes the finish on the table has cracked considerably and will require stripping and refinishing. We don't have current images of the table at this time, but can obtain new images upon request. The set may also be seen by appointment in Port Washington NY (about 30 minutes east of Manhattan on Long Island). Chairs measure 37.75" by 17.25" wide by 17.5" deep. Chair seats are wooden and were covered in printed canvas many years ago. Canvas is very worn, with some tears and stains on most chairs, so their new owner will want to invest in new upholstery. This arts and crafts period set has an understated Victorian style with sparse decoration. Chairs feature a basic Queen Anne shape with squared off, simplified lines, and peg/dowel construction. No distinguishing hallmarks. Maker is unknown.
