For your consideration is this1989 "Diamonds Are Forever - Artists and Writers on Baseball - Legends Baseball Scrapbook and Stamp Album" published by the United States Postal Service and various baseball ephemera. The scrapbook is dedicated to four of the game’s legends whose stirring achievements have earned them commemoration on U.S. postage stamps – Jackie Robinson (1982), Babe Ruth (1983), Roberto Clemente (1984) and Lou Gehrig (1989). The book originally came sealed with a mint unhinged stamp for each player that was to be affixed within the album by the collector, as well as a baseball card of each, picturing the player’s U.S. postage stamp on the front of the card, with their career statistics on the back. The photographed art included in the scrapbook are as follows: Ed Paschke's "Mask Man" (1970), Ralph Fasanella's "Night Game - Yankee Stadium" (1961), Micheal Langenstein's "Play Ball" (1982) and Gerald Garston's "Pastime" (1984). The included ephemera is as follows: three Cracker Jack Ball Players collector cards, a 1994 San Francisco Giants foldable game calendar and four tickets to the Oakland / Giants game on March 31, 1995. The pieces in this collection show good condition overall with some wear from their age and use but no signs of obvious damage are noted. All pieces come in the original folder measuring 12" L x 9" W.
