ALS signed “A. Conan Doyle,” one page, 4.25 x 7, Undershaw, Hindhead, Haslemere letterhead, no date. Letter to Sir Frederick Pollock. In full: “I should very much like to be at the Anglo American Dinner but don’t know how to get a ticket. Can you tell me?” A central horizontal fold, some scattered light soiling, and some light mirroring of ink to bottom of page, otherwise fine condition. Sir Frederick Pollock, Corpus Professor of Jurisprudence at Oxford, delivered the closing address at the Anglo-American dinner held at the Hotel Cecil on June 3, 1898, where “Dr. Conan Doyle” is listed among those representing literature and journalism.
