<B>Arthur C. Pillsbury Original Orotone of Half Dome at Yosemite</B></I> in original frame. Sight size of photo is 10.5" x 13.5" and the overall frame size is 16" x 19". Pillsbury owned a photography studio in Yosemite from 1897 to 1927 where he produced orotones such as this one. Half dome is a granite dome that rises more than 4,700 feet above the valley floor at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley and is possibly the its most familiar sight. 2005 saw the release of the California State quarter with a view of this dome on the reverse. Pillsbury's love of Yosemite and appreciation for nature shows in his art. This is a stunning scene with huge billowing clouds surrounding the top of the dome. Not signed but certainly Pillsbury's work.
