Blue Cross healthcare card from the estate of Arthur Ashe. Card bears Ashe's name and ID numbers, with Blue Cross logo and AFTRA label. Dated 1 April 1982 and expiring 31 March of 1983, this was the card Ashe used for his healthcare needs in the wake of a heart attack and bypass surgery. During a heart surgery in 1983 Ashe received the blood transfusion that gave him AIDS. Card measures approximately 3.5'' x 2.25''. Wear from use, very good. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
