Western Indoor Invitational Trophy plate awarded to Arthur Ashe in 1965, while Ashe was studying at UCLA on a tennis scholarship. The same year this trophy plate was awarded, Ashe won the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) singles title and contributed to UCLA's winning the team NCAA tennis championship. The canter of the plate is engraved: ''Western Indoor Invitational Mens Doubles Winner 1965'' to the center. Beautiful silver trophy plate is ornate and intricate, with Wallace maker's mark. Measures 12.5'' in diameter with minor tarnishing. Near fine condition. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
