Arthur Ashe's notebook featuring his autograph notes from his final days. He used these pages to record the names and numbers of the people he contacted for the last time in 1992 & 1993. The book opens to his notation of the date as 25 September 1992 as a heading. Beneath, Ashe jots the names and numbers of his contacts with the occasional reminder such as, ''Clinton letter'' and ''Send Davis Cup outfit to Hall of Fame''. The next date that appears is 30 October 1992, followed by a handful of dates in November, December and January, concluding with 2 February, 4 days before his death. Famous names of Bill Cosby and Magic Johnson make an appearance and many entries are contacts Ashe made in the media, in tennis and through his AIDS work. 18 sheets are filled out in Ashe's hand and the remaining sheets are blank.
