This outstanding lot consists of 9 items, including an ultra-rare autographed Proof Copy of Spiegelman's Pulitzer Prize winning Maus: A Survivor's Tale. How many comics do you know of that have earned the coveted Pulitzer? This Uncorrected Proof is autographed on the front cover, and also has a small sketch by the artist. Also included is a genuine First Edition of Maus, autographed & with a sketch, and a caption that reads "For the Underground Comix Hall Of Fame." This lot contains many other gems as well, including a hardcover (with dustjacket) version of Maus from 1991, which is autographed on the interior and accompanied by a large sketch. Three copies of RAW are present, including Volume Two #1 which is autographed on the front cover by Kim Deitch, Ben Katchor, Charles Burns, Krystine Kryttrer, Mark Beyer, R. Sikoryak, Mark Newgarden, and Art Spiegelman (who also added a "Maus" sketch). Volume Two #'s 2 & 3 are not autographed, but in very high grade. Fans of Maus will enjoy the copy of Comics Interview #108 which contains a great interview with the Maus creator. Thrown in for good measure is a copy of The Wild Party, a hardcover First Printing with dustjacket, with a sketch and autograph by Spiegelman on the inside. And, finally, we are proud to include a copy of Funny Aminals which holds a particular distinction: it's the only copy ever signed on the cover by Mr. Spiegelman. Seriously...try to find another! 9 Comic Books Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
