Fabulous discovery!! Silver tone belt buckle, very typical of the Art Nouveau era with two nude female figures on either side of the buckle. The inlay is painted enamel in a light soft brown taupe colour, there is a Fleur de Lis design at the top. It is signed Robbins & Tenney on the back and also Pat. Apld. For. This piece could quite possibly have been designed and made in France for the Robbins & Tenney company. Minimal signs of wear, consistent with age - a small mark on one side that I am unsure as to whether it is a scuff mark, oxidation because of age or just dirty (I have not cleaned this item and have left in it's original as found condition.) Another tiny mark on the other side, upper right corner The measurements are 1-3/4" inches wide from left to right and 1-3/4" inches in height - square shape with a small curvature in the centre. Fabulous Deco piece.
