This 1920s vintage glass vase is stunning! It is an elongated morning glory shape in vibrant oxblood/deep red and crystal glass. It is of high quality and is in excellent condition.

It is a blown mold swung glass vase. Swung glass vases begin as small glasses with a design set into the lower part. As the glass is heated, the maker slings it by hand from the end of a long metal rod to obtain the desired result. Because of this approach, all pieces are unique within the generally same product line and design. This design, in the morning glory, follows the Art Nouveau aesthetic.

The vase stands 12 inches tall and measures 3 7/8 inches across the top, where the bell of the morning glory shape emerges. The vase begins at the 2 1/2-inch foot, expands to a 3 1/2-inch bowl and slims to a 3/4-inch neck as the vase attenuates. As it progresses toward the bell at the top, it again expands to, first, 1 inch, then 1 1/2 inches, and, finally, the 3 7/8 inches of the open flower. It has no maker's mark. The vase is sturdy within its delicate design and has a fine finish.

This is a unique opportunity. I have not seen another vase like this one!
