This Nippon sugar shaker is mesmerizing in its beauty! It is hand-painted with a color design with the gold moriage gilt, in contrast to the white alabaster with gold moriage shaker of item PO-1201006. It is 1900-1920s vintage.

This shaker has been painted on the bottom in alternating widths and panels of color: spring green and periwinkle blue. The flowers are a coppery-pink with gray highlights. The entire design is accentuated with gold moriage loops and garlands and extends all the way around the shaker, as the pictures show.

The shaker measures 4 inches tall with a 2 3/4-inch base. It is shaped for easy grip for table use. The bottom has a large cork on the bottom and is marked with the green "Hand Painted Nippon" and Nippon wreath.

It is in excellent condition and will make a lovely addition to a Nippon or Victorian era sugar shaker collection!
