Three Piece Art-Nouveau Silverplate Dresser Set
Circa. 1904 - 1907 America. Consists of hand mirror, handled hair brush and clothing brush.
The overall glorious design consists of putti in repousse playing a variety of musical instruments with various flowers, including roses, strewn about. The putti and the instruments are different on each piece. There is a central heart shaped cartouche with fancy triple script initials, that look like HLT on the two handled pieces, no initials on the clothing brush. The two handled pieces are marked Derby Silver Co.
Pat. May 14, 1907, with additional patent date of July 26, 1904 on the mirror. The clothing brush is marked Victor Silver Co. with the 1907 date. Both Derby and Victor became part of the International Silver Co. The mirrored piece has a wonderful, round beveled mirror in excellent condition. It appears to be the original mirror. There is some wear in the plating on all pieces, and a small dent in the hairbrush handle, which is to be expected with soft silver over 100 years old. The mirror item is 16 1/4" x 6" x 1".
The brush is 7 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/2".
The handled brush measures 9" x 3" x 1 1/2"
