From the Proctor Collection we have an Art Deco Re-Strike Bronze Erotica by Bruno Zach. Born in the Ukraine in 1891, he studied and worked in Vienna and died in 1945. His subjects included western, orientalist, sporting, animalier, art deco and erotica. The piece, titled ''The Hugger'' combines both his art deco styling with graphic fantasy erotica. This particular piece embodies the depravity of 1930 Berlin's cabaret society. The figure's ruffled dress with bows on her stockings shows her abandon as she is wrapped around and straddling a male phallus while seated on the remainder of his anatomy. Sheer ectasy is shown on her face in what is obviously her dream realized. The sculpture is on a black marble base and measures approximately 8''.
