Lightweight & portable take-down semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Manufactured in Costa Mesa, CA circa 1959-1973. The AR-7 was designed at Armalite by Eugene Stoner, intended for civilian sales as a semi-automatic variant of the AR-5 bolt action rifle that was adopted by the U.S. Air Force. Features a satin black finish, steel lined 16” tapered barrel, dovetailed blade front sight with red painted accent, elevation adjustable rear aperture sight, serrated curved trigger, concealed hammer, two-position thumb safety on the right side of the receiver, detachable 8 round magazine, retractable charging handle and black synthetic buttstock which all of the components of the rifle fit inside when taken down. The buttstock cover is marked “Charter Arms”. Rifle retains approximately 95% of its original finish showing scattered scratches and small losses. The action is mechanically sound, the bore is very good and the plastic stock is good with numerous scratches & scuffs.
