With the half-pint size, lot #1459, this pair of stunning amber flasks has never before been available for public sale. The Arlington was one of the oldest concerns in Bakersfield, having been built sometime between 1878 and 1882. After several ownership changes over the years, M. Alfred Lindberg took over ownership in 1907 [Ref: Picnics, Coffins, Shoo-Flies, Thomas, 1974]. This "THE ARLINGTON/ M. A. LINDBERG/ PROP/ BAKERSFIELD, CAL." whiskey bottle is known to come in two sizes (half-pint and pint) and two colors (amber and clear). This beautiful embossed half-pint picnic (pumpkinseed) amber whiskey flask is 5.25" tall, and has no maker`s mark. Has 3 rough spots in shoulder, 2 scratches below front slug, 4 bubbles in rear, and is vented at shoulder and hip on all sides. Listed in both Thomas and Wilson. -60469
