<B>Arctic Explorer Donald MacMillan Typed Letter Signed</B></I> “<I>Donald MacMillan</B></I>”. One page, 7.25” x 10.5”, on MacMillan's personal letterhead, Boston, November 21, 1954, to William Wedge, Lansing, Michigan, with the usual fold creases, else fine. MacMillan writes in part: “How happy I am to do for a boy such a simple thing as writing an autograph! The envelope with my signature will go out tomorrow, and also a note on the back of it explaining the meaning of the Eskimo word 'Ak-su-nai',” MacMillan refers to an autograph note, 5” x 3”, on which he has written: “<I>Dear Richard: When the Eskimos see us coming they call “Ak-su-nai”! That means “may you be strong” or I wish you well. Donald MacMillan</B></I>”. On the verso of the card is written “<I>Admiral Donald MacMillan/ Ak-su-nai!</B></I>”.
