1. November 4, 1863-Dated, Civil War Period, Newspaper titled, “The Soldier’s Aid”, 10” x 13.5”, 8 pages, Rochester, N.Y. Large front page article about, “U.S. Sanitary Commission. / Hospital Directories.”

2. July 1, 1873-Dated, Partly-Printed Document, 8.5” x 4”, 1 page, Baltimore (MD). Being a travel voucher for the Baltimore & Potomac Railroad, “Please furnish passage over your road to Tolbot Station for 2 Colored Boys & 1 Police Officer...”

3. March 9, 1809-Dated, Partly-Printed Document, 8” x 9.75”, 1 page, Navy Department. Being an Appointment for Thomas I. Chew as Purser, Signed “Ch. W. Goldborough / acting Secretary of the Navy”.

4. June 23, 1863-Dated, Civil War Period, Partly-Printed Document, 7.5” x 3.25”, 1 page, Baltimore (MD). Being a Pass for “Henry Darvens to proceed to Falls Road - 12 miles.” Reverse has an oath of allegiance taken and signed by the same Henry Darvens.

5. April 9, 1848-Dated, Partly-Printed Document, 7” x 5”, 1 page, Washington, DC. Being a “Certificate of Ownership in the Foreign Patents of The Joveite Explosive.”, in which Ralph Walsh has purchased Forty five shares of the Foreign Patents at the cost of $100 per share. Date at bottom is “1898”, which appears to be the correct date as the agreement to sell shares was signed in 1894.

6. September 17, 1814-Dated, War of 1812 Period, Partly-Printed Document, 8” x 5”, 1 page. Being a Provisions Document for Captain Philip B. Sadtler’s Baltimore Yeagers. This Company fought at the Battle of North Point on September 12, 1814.

7. November 6, 1866-Dated, Partly-Printed Document, 9.5” x 6.5”, 1 page, Boston, (MA). Being an early Insurance Certificate from the “Metropolitan Relief Association”. Certificate guarantees to pay “Ten Dollars per week in the case of total disability caused by Accident or Sickness for a period not exceeding twenty-six weeks for any one accident or case of sickness...” Certificate cost Twenty-five cents per week.

8. July 25-Dated (c. 1860 no year), Manuscript Document, 7.25” x 6.25”, 1 page. Document titled “Sutlers Account”, lists 14 names, all dated July 25 and the amount $200.

9. February 22, 1862-Dated Civil War Period, Used Postal cover postmarked “Baltimore M.D.”, identified in red ink at right edge “Soldiers Letter from the 91st N.Y. Stationed at, Fort Carroll, Md.”

10. November 12-Dated (no year), Used Postal cover, “U.S. Christian Commission / Soldier’s Letter” at upper left, line cancelled 3 cent stamp at upper right.
