Archduchess Sophie-Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth - Major Tableau from the Heraldic Service for the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, porcelain, Meissen Manufactory, curved moulded frame, 4 moulded cartouches w/ painted crowned Austrian coat-of-arms, 4 putti, gilt decor, mirrored glass mounted on wooden frame, 90 x 68 x 10,5 cm, some scuffing, 3 arms pasted, Meissen Manufactory, unmarked, ca. 1857, (Lu).EURO 3.500 - 5.000 US $ 3.000 - 4.300 The white Heraldic Service with gilt edging was commissioned at the Meissen Manufactory by Archduchess Sophie during her visit to Dresden in May 1857. Used as a dinner service at the imperial villa in Bad Ischl, it was kept in a custom made cupboard in a room off the dining room, and used at many family dinners and receptions for a variety of crowned heads.
