Green jade beaker of major rarity and importance dating to Eastern Zhou period. The number of dragons denote a funerary object and the presence of the dragons as well, point that this beaker was an imperial funerary object. It is an imperial funerary beaker decorated with 4 climbing dragons on the sides that served as handles. the dragons are carved in high relief in open work with great lapidary skills. The sides are decorated with incised ornaments featuring alternating eagle dragons and scrolls with criss-cross incisions. The beaker is of monumental proportions and the first kind that we have ever seen. Authenticated by Dr. Veleanu, the author of the jade collectors book: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD". Dr. Veleanu is also the owner of Objets d'Art Uniques Internet store. Estimated value: $30.000-35.000.
