The lot features an excellent large authentic pre-historic Plainview Coastview Texas long point with a fine grade of G-9+ and a book value of $2,500. The ancient point is expertly constructed from a fine Burlington Chert material with outstanding coloring and is in very well-preserved excellent museum quality condition. The point shows a large / tall Plainview (also referred to as the Coastview Texas or Plano Lanceolate Cluster) spear point with nice red to pink coloring. The spear point has a collection museum tag that reads, “226-A10 D-120 Corrizozo 4 ¼” Paleo Plainview Flint Point Wilson Co, Tex. Book Value $2,500.00” and “4 ¼ Plainview G-8+ Value 2,500 Wilson CO TX D-120”. This is truly a rare authentic unusual rarely seen Marcos spear point and was collected in Texas. This 10,000-9,000 B.P. artifact is from the Texas Native American Indians and is in exceptionally fine spear point showing wonderful detail and an extraordinary size. Provenance: From a multi-generation artifact collection spanning 80-100 years from Las Cruzes, New Mexico. The point is in excellent condition and measures 4 1/4”L x 1 3/8”W. Riker case is 4.5”x5.75” and 1” thick.
