This is an excellent early war club from the Arapaho Native American Indians. The piece is from circa 1890-1910 and was displayed in the Cherry Creek South Dakota Museum until it closed in 1960 when the current collector purchased it. This was kept in the private collection in Iowa since the museum closed in 1960. The piece features wonderful 19th century glass trade seed fully beaded stem with a stone head secured by Buffalo hide showing the rich fur. The beads include: Hudson Bay red white hearts, greasy yellow, chalk white, sky blue, and navy blue. The bottom has white a sky blue padre glass trade beds sinew sewn. Overall well preserved good condition piece measures overall 21.5”L with a 5 5/8”x2 5/8”x2.5” thick. The item was recovered in Sage, Wyoming. Has original museum tag.
