Arapaho Beaded Sheath & Pewter Inlaid Knife 19th
This is a unique fully top beaded sheath, attributed to the Arapaho Native American Indians, paired with a fine pewter inlaid trade fighting knife dating to the 19th Century. The late-1800’s knife shows a pewter inlaid bolster hilt paired with what appears to be a hardwood walnut grip that is artfully adorned with brass trade tacks. The knife is referred to as a fighting or scalping knife by the collector. The sheath shows a harness saddle leather construction with glass trade beads in a geometric pattern that is sinew sewn. The beadwork shows colors of red, blue, and white with a small amount of yellow/orange. The sheath is 10 ½ inches long by 2 inches wide. The trade knife is 10 ¼ inches long.
