The lot features a set of beaded leggings from the Arapaho Native American Indians. The set has wonderful 1800's glass trade seed bead work sinew sewn on Indian tanned hide. Arapaho beadwork is scarcely seen and highly collectible. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming. Leggings are from circa 1890.
