Artist BiographyAram Koupetsian (1928- ) was born in Budenovsk, Russia. He studied at the Moscow Institute of Pedagogy, and later became a pupil of the great Armenian artist Martyros Saryan. Koupetsian developed a style influenced by the traditional Cubists, such as Braque and Pablo Picasso, as well as the Russian avante garde abstract movement. Music is a great influence on his art, as he attempts to translate the rhythms and forms into a visual composition. He lives today in Moscow, and his art is collected in public and private collections around the world.
