Flight-flown printed fabric American flag, 6 x 4, flown aboard the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz mission. Flag is affixed by its corners to a 14 x 11 certificate stating “This flag was flown on the first international space mission Apollo/Soyuz, July 15-24, 1975. Presented to Eugene A. Cernan with appreciation for your effort in support of the Apollo/Soyuz test project,” and signed in black felt tip by crew members Tom Stafford, Vance Brand, and Deke Slayton. A fabric mission patch is affixed adjacent to the signatures. In fine condition, with a block of even toning covering most of the paper and a block of light toning to the flag. A unique show of appreciation to Cernan, who in 1972 became the last person to step foot off the moon, from his fellow astronauts.
