Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Autograph Collection
Apollo-Soyuz Test Project - Collection of Signed Items. The 1975 ASTP mission was the first joint project between the U.S. and Soviet space programs. The American crew, in an Apollo spacecraft, consisted of Commander Tom Stafford, Command Module Pilot Vance Brand, and Docking Module Pilot Deke Slayton. The Russian crew, in the Soyuz 19 spacecraft, consisted of Commander Aleksei Leonov and Engineer Valery Kubasov. All of these men have signed five of the items in this lot: two U.S.S.R. airmail commemorative covers; an official U.S. FDC of the Scott #1569-70 stamp pair; the cover of a souvenir folder in Russian; and a philatelic U.S.S.R. souvenir sheet picturing all five (also signed by Bill Anders). Also included in this lot are a few loose mint Apollo-Soyuz stamps from the U.S. and U.S.S.R. and a 4" mission patch. From the estate of Dr. D.
