Group of five original glossy 10 x 8 photos of Apollo water egress training, including five official color red-numbered NASA photos and one black-numbered NASA photo. Includes:

S-69-32921: BP-1102A in the Gulf of Mexico during test operations to demonstrate crew donning of Biological Isolation Garments (BIGs). The BIGs were worn post-landing to preclude any 'moon bugs' from contaminating the Earth and were first used by the Apollo 11 crew. Test subject on the far right is Captain Paul Kruppenbacher, assigned to NASA as a Recovery Systems Engineer.

S-68-41807: Training the Apollo 7 crew with BP-1102A aboard the NASA ship MV Retriever in the Gulf of Mexico. Capt. Kruppenbacher (on right) is assisting Spacecraft Commander Wally Schirra as he enters the side hatch.

S-68-41686 [black]: Training the Apollo 10 crew in water egress procedures in the NASA MSC Building 160 water tank. Spacecraft Commander Tom Stafford is exiting the side hatch to enter the liferaft.

S-68-41884: Training the Apollo 10 crew in water egress procedures in the Gulf of Mexico. Astronaut Gene Cernan, holding onto the side hatch mechanism, is awaiting entering BP-1102A before the trainer is placed in the water off the NASA ship MV Retriever.

S-68-22727: Training an Apollo crew in water egress procedures in the MSC water tank. Astronaut Jim Lovell, Spacecraft Commander, is awaiting entering the side hatch. NASA engineer Capt. Kruppenbacher is assisting.

In overall fine condition. From the personal collection of Paul Kruppenbacher, a member of the NASA Houston Landing and Recovery Division who trained Apollo astronauts in water recovery procedures and was deployed on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers for crew and spacecraft recovery operations.
