Apollo Command Module (Block II) Very High Frequency Recovery Beacon manufactured by Collins, measuring approximately 6.5˝ x 4˝ x 4˝ with a tag on the side reading: "VHF Recovery Beacon Equipment, NAA S&ID PN ME478-0069-0003…Contract No. NAS 9-150, Date of Mfr. 24 June 66…Mfd. by Collins Radio Co. for the Apollo Spacecraft, Serial No. 026728090005." The unit is labeled "C28-1A111” on the top, and features connectors “J1” and “J2.” In very good to fine condition. This desirable recovery beacon was designed to be used post-splashdown, to assist the recovery force with locating the Command Module if not visually sighted.
