Apollo 9 - Group of 21 Original NASA Photographs
Apollo 9 - Group of 21 Original NASA Photographs. The third manned Apollo mission, the second manned flight of the Saturn V launch vehicle, and the first flight of the Apollo Lunar Module, Apollo 9 left the ground on March 3, 1969 for a ten-day flight. Commander James McDivitt, Command Module Pilot David Scott, and Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart successfully proved, in earth orbit, that docking and undocking of the two modules would be possible in lunar orbit and that the new Apollo space suit with a self-contained life-support system would work on the moon without an umbilical connection to a spacecraft. This vintage collection of 21 official NASA 8" x 10" glossy color photos is mostly of the desirable variety with red NASA image numbers in the wide right margins. Contained is a nice variety of astronaut and in-flight images. Generally very fine condition. From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino. This lot is accompanied by a signed certificate of authentication from Garino verifying its provenance.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
