<B>Apollo 7 In-Flight Exerciser</B></I> used by the astronauts on the first manned Apollo mission, October 11-22, 1968, accompanied by its 10" high by 4" diameter storage bag. Presented to Joe Garino by the mission's Command Module pilot, Donn Eisele. This "Exer-Genie" unit combined isometric and isotonic exercise to attain and maintain strength, endurance and flexibility. With a photocopy of a one page, 8" x 10.5", March 10, 1969, typed letter from the three Apollo 7 crew members, Eisele, Wally Schirra, and Walt Cunningham, to Joe Garino, saying, in part, that their "personal awareness of 'the Garino touch' came into clearest focus during the Apollo 7 mission when we set about to use the Exergenie you wisely suggested we take with us…we used it almost constantly as flight activities would permit…" <I>From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino.
