Flown piece of metal from the fuel tank of the Apollo Lunar Module-1 spacecraft, which was launched as part of the Apollo 5 mission from Cape Kennedy LC-37B on January 22, 1968. The metal fragment, 3.75? x 1? x .25?, is encased in a block of Lucite measuring 4? x 2? x 1.5?, with the front engraved: "Grumman Lunar Module 1, Launch Date 1/22/68 Earth Orbit, This Piece of Fuel Tank Recovered in Bolivia, S. A., Presented to S. Avanti." In fine condition, with scuffing to bottom and internal cracking to Lucite.
