Official lunar orbit flown personal preference kit (PPK) bag from the collection of mission and moonwalker Commander John Young. PPK’s are the drawstring beta cloth bags in which the astronauts carried their personal and private mementos and cargo to the moon and back. Signed in black felt tip, “Flown on Apollo 16. John Young.” Young’s name is stitched on a small label, with a larger stitched label reading, “Kit, Pilot’s Preference. SEB 12100018-202, S/N 1146, Mfg. NASA MSC 4-70.” The original SEB and serial numbers can be tied to the flight manifest. A rare and substantial piece of Apollo 16 history.
