<B>Apollo 16 Lunar Module Flown United States Flag</B></I> from the collection of Lunar Module Pilot Charles M. Duke Jr., 5.5" x 4", inscribed and signed "<I>This flag flown to the lunar surface aboard the Lunar Module ‘Orion' April 20, 1972 Charles M. Duke Jr. Apollo 16 LMP</B></I>". Mounted on a signed sheet 10" x 12". <BR><BR>Apollo 16 was the tenth manned mission in the Apollo program and the fifth mission to land on the Moon, the first to land in the highlands area. The three-man crew consisted of John W. Young, Commander; Thomas K. (Ken) Mattingly Jr., Command Module Pilot; and Charles Duke Jr., Lunar Module Pilot. The medallion has an eagle with wings outstretched, perched atop a striped shield, over a lunar surface. The vector symbol from the NASA logo was placed on top of the shield, and then across the shield were written the words APOLLO 16. It is bordered with a band carrying 16 stars and the crew names.<BR><BR>This flag is complete with a letter of certification signed by Charles M. Duke Jr. who served as lunar module pilot for the Apollo 16 mission. He is the youngest of only twelve men who have walked on the moon. <I>From the personal collection of General Charles M.
