Sought-after Apollo 15 postal cover, 6.5 x 3.75, numbered 58 of 400, carried to the lunar surface aboard the Lunar Module Falcon, signed in the lower left corner in black felt tip by crew members Dave Scott, Al Worden, and Jim Irwin. In very good to fine condition, with moderate overall rippling, possibly from onetime exposure to moisture. Given their distinction of having spent a total of three days upon the Hadley Apennine region of the moon, flown Sieger/crew covers from the Apollo 15 mission remain a highly desirable item for philatelists and space collectors alike, and are enhanced furthermore by the controversy surrounding their sale and temporary detainment.
