Cover flown on the helicopter dispatched from the USS New Orleans to recover the Apollo 14 astronauts in the South Pacific Ocean, postmarked on the New Orleans on the recovery date, February 9, 1971, with a cachet filled out in ballpoint: "Flown from USS New Orleans (LPH-11) To LPH-11, Date: 9 Feb 1971, Craft: SH-3A #500 HS-6, Mission: Recovery of Apollo 14 Astronauts, Comment: No Problems During Recovery." Signed below by the pilot, "Cdr. W. E. Walker USN." In fine condition. Accompanied by two notes by the original sender, Barbara J. Baker, one at the top of a photocopy of a note from Cdr. Walker authenticating the cover. Baker writes: "I sent 4 covers to Cdr. Walker to be flown on his helicopter during the recovery of the Apollo-14 crew."
