Printed manual entitled “Apollo Flight Data File LM Timeline Book,” no date, 34 pages, signed in blue ink on the front cover “James Lovell, Apollo 13.” The manual depicts instructions for what would be the aborted Apollo 13 mission. Some of the section headings include Prep for Undocking, Landing Site TCA, Lift Off, Insertion Thru CSI, TPI Thru Docking, and Post Docking LM/CM Xfer List. In fine condition with bend to the lower left corner, some handling wear, three punch holes at left side and staple at the top left corner, and a brush to Lovell’s name. Accompanied by a wealth of unsigned related material from the flight including an Apollo 13 flight plan, documents and schematics on the NASA Communications Network, photocopies of the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center management organization chart, descriptions and diagrams of the Apollo command and support module, documentation of the Apollo simulation network configuration, NASA mission rules, lunar landing mission trajectories, Apollo 13 timelines, numerous pages of miscellaneous mission control documents, four NASA photos from the mission, and two souvenir postcards. The supporting material rates overall very good to fine condition. This was the planning document—one extensively reviewed by astronauts and engineers—that Lovell would have followed had he successfully landed on the moon. A key document designed for a safe landing on the lunar surface.
