Collection of 19 items relating to the historic Apollo 11 mission, including: a group of 12 color cardstock photos printed by the Crofton Lithographing Corp., 7.25 x 9.25 and 9.25 x 7.25, bearing iconic images from the Apollo 11 mission used on NASA’s sought-after lithograph series, with each photo postmarked July 20, 1969, the date of the Apollo 11 moon landing, and September 9, 1969, the issue date for the jumbo-sized commemorative "First Man on the Moon" stamp, which is affixed to lower right corner; an official color glossy 10 x 8 NASA photo of Buzz Aldrin standing next to the American flag on the lunar surface; an FDC from RCA with cachet honoring the Apollo 11 mission; a 45 RPM record entitled “Lunar Landing: Man on the Moon”; two official color 14 x 11 NASA lithographs showing the three-man crew of Apollo 11, the mission emblem, and the lunar plaque left on the moon; a 20th anniversary ‘First Men on the Moon’ FDC with $5 commemorative coin, housed in its original presentation folder; and a TLS from Fern Lee Pickens of NASA’s public affairs office, dated October 4, 1972, explaining to an autograph collector that “Mr. Armstrong discontinued signing all philatelic items late last year because of their widespread commercial use.” In overall fine condition.
