Color glossy 14 x 11 photo of the Apollo 11 crew posing together in their space suits, and affixed to a 20 x 16 mount, signed and inscribed in black felt tip by Armstrong “To Senator Ralph Yarborough—With sincere respect and best wishes from the crew of Apollo 11—Neil Armstrong,” then signed by both “Mike Collins” and “Buzz Aldrin.” In very good to fine condition, with light overall fading to both the image and handwriting (most likely from previous display), some light surface marks and streaking to emulsion of image, mild toning to mount, a couple light creases, and a paperclip impression to lower left corner of image. Also, given the disparity in darkness between the inscription and Armstrong’s signature, it appears that the inscription may have been tastefully traced over in another hand. Oversized portraits signed by Apollo 11 crew members are highly sought after by collectors.
