Flight-flown printed fabric Massachusetts state flag, flown aboard the Apollo 11 mission, 6 x 4, signed at the bottom in black ink, “Carried to the moon aboard Apollo XI, Michael Collins.” The flag has been lightly stitched to a larger piece of archival material for preservation and display purposes. In fine condition, with slight feathering of ink due to nature of materials used. A flight-flown item from the most famous Apollo mission, enhanced by its notable association with the home state of John F. Kennedy, who, in 1961, expressed an ambition that would indeed be fulfilled: “I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth.”
